CONFERENCES
“CYBER STORM INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE”
UNSW Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA)
Canberra, February 2019

I presented a paper entitled ‘Educating Leaders fit for Future Challenges ~ Navigating Cyberstorms’, at the ‘Cyber Storm’ International Conference and joined the Policy Workshop, both held on 18 – 19 February 2019 at UNSW Canberra and the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA), in Canberra, Australia. My address provided a geopolitical context and introduced the 4th Industrial Revolution technological impact on security and defence sectors. In this framework, the character of future wars and the consequential need for a new kind of strategic leadership was discussed. Much emphasis was given to the Professional Military Education (PME) as a valuable source of forward looking and innovative strategically thinking military and civilian leaders needed to lead through anticipated complexity of imminent crisis.
I am glad to have had the opportunity to meet senior professionals in the field of defence and cyber security at the conference and to have had excellent visits at the Australian government defence institutions.
